Coppa Italia hopes come to an end at Milan (2-0)

Inter Milan secured a Coppa semifinal spot winning Lazio on Tuesday, with goals by Marko Arnautovic and Samuel Gigot in either half to send the Bianconeri straight to the Coppa Italia semifinals. Pedro was near to closing the gap but the crossbar bounced out the visitor's hopes. The Biancocelesti will now focus on the Serie A and Europa League competitions.

Arnautovic scored the opener six minutes before the break, firing home a perfectly struck volley that flew into the net from outside the box after a corner was headed clear.

Lazio pressed in the second half, with Gustav Isaksen nearly scoring just before the hour mark from a tight angle, but Inter keeper Josep Martinez kept out the attempt with his foot.

Hakan Calhanoglu sealed the win for Inter in the 77th minute from the penalty spot, sending Lazio keeper Christos Mandas the wrong way after Samuel Gigot fouled a charging Joaquin Correa.
