Third Serie A win threaded for Lazio in 2024 opener (1-2)

Pedro Rodríguez's SS Lazio start 2024 in style, with an away victory in Udine to keep them in the battle for Serie A European spots. They won their first match of the year thanks to the goals by Luca Pellegrini and the Uruguayan Matías Vecino, who scored the winner, at the Bluenergy stadium by 1-2, on the last day of the first round of Serie A.

Both the end of 2023 and the beginning of this new year highlighted the improvement of Maurizio Sarri's team, with a record of three wins threaded.

And Gabriele Cioffi's team seemed to turn things around in the second half when, on the hour mark, they equalised Luca Pellegrini's opener that had put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute.

It was the Brazilian Walace who scored through a cross by the Slovenian Sandi Lovric. But in the final strecht Lazio gained attacking firepower with Pedro on the pitch and took the victory with a goal from Vecino from a pass from Brazilian Felipe Anderson in the 76th minute.
