Zaccagni’s first-half opener was not enough to grab points away at Mapei Stadium, as local side Sassuolo completed a comeback in six minutes after the break.
Pedro Rodríguez formed on Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven and played the full 45 minutes of the first half, producing a strong performance -with an assist to his name in the 7th-minute opener. The cross from the Spaniard found Zacaggni into the box as the Italian made the early first blood.
Despite the good vibes, Pedro was forced to be subbed after feeling some pain so he did not start the second half. Felipe Anderson came onto the pitch replacing the Tenerife-born attacker.
The local side was back to action in style, as two threaded goals by international players Domenico Berardi and Giacomo Raspadori made it 2-1 in six minutes.
Lazio tried hard to equalise the game and were almost there when Basic hit the woodwork, but finally the all three points remained stuck home and left visitors empty-handed.
