Never give up. SS Lazio grabbed on Tuesday night their first point in Champions League season after signing a last-gasp draw at the Olimpico against Spanish side Atlético de Madrid. Madrilenians got advantage on the first half after the opener scored by youngster Pablo Barrios (24’) , but the local tried hard to get an equalizer and did so through an amazing goal by keeper Provedel with a header from a set-piece. Then number 94 got the most in the final action of the game.
Pedro enjoyed Champions League sensations again, his return to a competition he has won three times before with FC Barcelona. Fond memories for the Spaniard, who has a record of 78 games played in the competition with a 16 strike tally to his name. Lazio’s number 9 came onto the pitch on minute 76’ replacing Zaccagni and displayed a strong effort up front in the final attacking tsunami until getting reward.
