Lazio unrewarded in hard-fought game against Serie A leaders (2-1)

Defeat away at San Siro. The clash on Sunday evening against Serie A leaders -first trip of 2022-, ended with a narrow defeat 2-1 for SS Lazio in a hard-fought game.

Pedro Rodriguez formed on Maurizio Sarri’s starting line-up and signed a good 90-minutes performance up-front.

Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar scored for the local side, as Ciro Immobile was again on target for the Biancocelesti. The Italian ace is second-spot ranked on Serie A top scorer list.

Despite a box-to-box start of the game, it Was Lautaro Martínez who broke the deadlock (16’) but VAR disallowed the action as the local player was offside. Bastoni recovered the advantage soon (29’), with a shoot from the Edge of the box from a corner kick.

Immobile showed again his outstanding scoring ratio with the equaliser. The scoreboard remained 1-1 until minute 66’, when Milan Skriniar signed the winner with a powerful header. The effort from Lazialis did not get reward as the match ended with the three points stuck to San Siro.
