Penalty spot nightmare at Artemio Franchi (2-1)

SS Lazio lost away to Fiorentina in Serie A Sunday fixture, with Gila's opening goal cancelled out by two spot-kicks. The Biancocelesti tried hard to get a reward of their trip to the Artemio Franchi Stadium, but were denied by the Spanish keeper David de Gea. Pedro displayed a good performance up front after replacing Dia in the 68th minute.

The visitors took the lead on the first half through a goal the Spaniard Mario Gila, getting the most of a free kick from the left in the six-yard box to put Lazio ahead in Florence.

But everything changed just after the break, when Guendouzi brought down Gudmundsson in the box. The Icelander converted a kick-spot. But Lazio did not give up with Pedro in attack, as Biancocelesti kept working hard to regain the lead.

In the final stretch a draw looked like the most probable end for the contest, but Dodo fell down just on the edge of the end line. The action that was not appreciated by the referee so he had to be warned by VAR. Gudmundsson then scored the winner from the penalty spot.
