The beautiful game is back to the Olimpico stadium! With the pre-season work over, Pedro Rodríguez's SS Lazio is heading towards its season opener scheduled for Sunday 18 August at 20:45 and will do it at own soil. Venezia will be the rival to beat in this opening match of what will be the Tenerife native's third season playing for the Biancocelesti, so it comes what looks like an exciting campaign with challenges in Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
The pre-season work began with the classic training camp at the iconic town of Auronzo di Cadore, where the team played their first tests against CS Auronzo (23-0), Trapani (3-1) and Triestina (1-1). The preparations increased with visits to Hansa Rostock (0-3), Frosinone (0-2) and Southampton (1-1), while the ice on the cake came with the victory at the Ramón de Carranza Trophy -Cádiz, Spain- winning the traditional silver trophy by beating the home team 0-1. So an unbeaten pre-season is a good record for the team led by Marco Baroni to face their official start of the season in style. Forza Lazio!!
