Lazio knows no other way to win than in epic fashion. But, thanks once again to a late goal from Marusic, Sarri's men rediscovered victory after five matchdays, defeating Sassuolo. Pedro returned to action, fully recovered from his injury, coming on in the 77th minute for Zaccagni to revitalize the Biancocelesti attack for the decisive final stretch.
Maurizio Sarri's team took an early lead after a brilliant run by Isaksen down the right flank. Daniel Maldini pounced on a loose ball inside the area to put Lazio ahead after just two minutes.
As the minutes ticked by, Sassuolo grew into the game, and Laurienté equalised in the 35th minute. The French winger combined with N'Zola and Thorstvedt before cutting inside the box and unleashing a shot straight to the top corner, leaving debutant goalkeeper Motta with no chance.
It took Lazio a while to reconnect, and they only threatened once, with Kenneth Taylor's shot from the edge of the box being blocked. This allowed Sarri's men to grow in confidence... and they found the equalizer in the 92nd minute. Cancelleri chipped the ball in from the left flank, and Marusic headed it past the onrushing Muric.
