The moment of farewell is approaching: both Pedro Rodríguez and SS Lazio have announced that next Saturday, on the final matchday of Serie A, the Tenerife native will play his last game for the Biancocelesti, bringing his time at the club to a close. He arrived in 2021 and leaves on a high note, with the affection of everyone. Pisa will be the opponent at the Stadio Olimpico, at 8:45 CET.
"Today is a very sad day for me, because I'm saying goodbye to this beautiful journey and this wonderful family," Pedro shared on the club's social media channels with a touching video. Reading a handwritten letter in Italian, he recalls having defended the sky-blue jersey "with courage, humility, ambition, and passion."
"It's true that no trophy has yet arrived at what I consider a wonderful club. I'm sure that something important will soon be celebrated with these great men and footballers. Every time I stepped onto the pitch and looked up, I admired them with pride," Pedro emphasised.
"The match against Pisa will be my last in this jersey. I hope to see you all at the stadium. I hope you can be there for me, but I also understand that this has been a very tough and complicated year for everyone, so I fully respect your decision," Pedro added.
Finally, the Spaniard concluded his letter by stating that throughout these five seasons it has been "a true honour to wear the shirt and the badge" of Lazio on his chest.
