“Thank you for make it possible to fulfill my dream”

Pedro Rodríguez held a farewell press conference on Monday in Barcelona. Former Barcelona teammates, coaching staff and family were there to support him. Happy after a superb display on Sunday, Pedro stated that “I saw it was difficult to continue at Barça and we found a good way out. I am sad to leave but I’m happy at the same time, it’s a good opportunity”. “The atmosphere in the Premier League is fantastic, the stadiums are always full and it’s an attractive league for spectators”, he added less than 24 hours after his successfully Premier League debut.

“I spent many years at this club, immersing myself in Barça’s philosophy from day one, from the youth ranks through to the first team. I fulfilled my dream by coming here and playing for the club I have loved since a young age. I’ve learned from great players and coaches. I’d like to thank everyone, especially my teammates”.

“Playing in this Club was a dream of mine from very young. I have always felt comfortable here. I have tried to learn from all the examples and legends who have passed through Barça. That has helped to guide me as a person and learn the institution’s values. I think and I hope that I have done the best I can. Now I am sad to be leaving my home but happy to have given everything,” he commented.

“I’ve always wanted to play more regularly. I realised that it was going to be tough for me here. I wanted to play and get game time in the big matches. Now I have new challenges ahead of me. I want to feel like an important member of a team again”.

“There are a lot of very good players here and I don’t think they’ll miss me. I will miss them personally, though. The most painful part is leaving behind such wonderful people. Barça will move on and continue being successful”.

His memories: “I’ve experienced unforgettable moments. I’d single out the euphoria of when we achieved our goals. I’m taking with me the memory of sharing in those great moments”.
