Pedro: “I knew I had possibilities but I wanted to be cautious”

Barcelona’s striker Pedro Rodríguez stated today that he feels happy and surprised because, although he knew he had possibilities to be called, “I wanted to be cautious”. Pedro, in his statement to Spanish News Agency EFE, thinks that having some players of his team between the called by Vicente del Bosque is very good for him.

“I think I will be welcomed warmly and it will be easier for me to adapt”, told us the striker at his house in Abades (Tenerife).

“Tomorrow I’m going to Barcelona and next Monday to the get-together in Madrid”, said Pedro, who thinks that the Spanish National Team is one of the favourites to conquer South Africa’s World Cup.

“We need to go match by match, but is true that Spain is one of the favourites”, he added.

About the just finished season, Barça’s striker said that it was great and that he’s very happy because things have gone well and they have also won the league.

Despite his joy because of being called by Del Bosque, he admits that he’s sad for the relegation of Tenerife. “They deserved to be more time at ‘Primera División’ because is a great team”.

Pedro Rodríguez Ledesma had a sensational season and has made history being the only football player who has been able to score in six competitions the same season, and being 22 years old his goals started to be decisive last summer. The player from Tenerife scored 12 goals in the League, four in Champions, three in the Cup, two in the Club’s World Cup, one in the Spanish Super Cup and another one in the Europe Super Cup.
