‘Benvenuto alla Roma’: Pedro signs for Giallorossi

Pedro will play for AS Roma until 30 June 2023. The deal between the Spanish attacker and the Italian club has been signed after the medical examinations, so today is the first day of a new stage in his successful career as he will compete in one more of the biggest European Championship -the Serie A-, after playing -and winning- two massive competitions as La Liga (FC Barcelona) and Premier League (Chelsea FC).

“I am delighted to be here at Roma,” Pedro said. “I’m excited for this challenge and to compete to achieve our targets over the coming seasons. “I want to thank the fans for the welcome they’ve given me. I hope to make them happy.”

“It’s a privilege for us to be able to welcome a player of Pedro’s quality to the Roma family,” said club CEO Guido Fienga.

“The hope we have, for both him and for us, is that he can continue to add to his extraordinary list of achievements with AS Roma.”

The last Season Paulo Fonseca’s side finished the Tournament on the fifth spot after a break of four months because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Also Roma reached the Europa League last-16 round, but the final winners Sevilla FC won the tie and bowed them out of the competition.

The Giallorrosi is one of the most representative clubs of the Serie A, icon of the ‘calcio’ and a strong Italian side in European competitions. Their Trophy cabinet host three Scudetto (Serie A 00/01, 82/83, 41/42), nine Italian Cups (07/08, 06/07, 90/91, 85/86, 83/84, 80/81, 79/80, 68/69, 63/64), two Italian Supercups (07/08, 01/02) and a second tier Lega B (Serie B, 51/52). In Europe Roma won the 60/61 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the 1972 Anglo-Italian Cup.

The legendary Stadio Olimpico di Roma is a big temple of football in the Italian capital. With 73.000 seats is by far the largest sports facility of Rome with an awesome atmosphere supported by their warm and loyal Giallorossi fans.
