10 men Chelsea suffer FA Cup final heartbreak (2-1)

The Blues showed great resilience in FA Cup final at Wembley to fight back from a goal down with 10 men but our hopes of adding the FA Cup to their Premier League title ultimately proved a step too far.

Pedro was on Antonio Conte’s starting eleven and played a good performance on the attacking line before substitution on 72’. The Spaniard tried to broke Gunner’s resistance tireless but finally couldn’t add to his three-goal Cup tally of the season.

After the game Pedro took the social networks to say thanks to the Blues’ supporters: “It's been a shame not to win another Title for all of you Blues. Thanks a lot for your support this season. Come On Chelsea” said Pedro through his official social media profiles.

Alexis Sanchez netted a controversial opener, that could have been disallowed for either handball or offside, very early on, and it was the Gunners who looked the more likely to add to their lead before the break.

Gary Cahill made two goal-line clearances and Danny Welbeck hit the post with Diego Costa going closest for Blues.

We markedly improved once play restarted but two bookings for Victor Moses left us with even more of an uphill struggle. Despite that setback, Diego Costa leveled with a real centre-forward’s goal with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining.

The celebrations didn’t last long however as Aaron Ramsey headed in from close range. The players left everything on the pitch as we struggled in search of equaliser number two - Diego Costa going closest with time almost up - but it wasn’t to be. No Double this time, but still a wonderful season for Antonio Conte and his men.
