In-style start for Pedro: goal and win over Bosnia (1-3)

Pedro scored the third for Spain as they warmed up for Euro 2016 with a 3-1 friendly win over Blues’ teammate Asmir Begovic’s Bosnia & Herzegovina in Saint Gallen (Switzerland).

Also Chelsea player Fabregas captained Spain and started in a deep midfield role while Azpilicueta was deployed at left-back for Vicente del Bosque’s side.

Begovic made a wonderful save to deny Aritz Aduriz after just 58 seconds but Spain scored twice inside the opening 18 minutes through Celta Vigo’s Nolito, the second of his goals coming from a Fabregas assist. Emir Spahic pulled one back for Bosnia & Herzegovina just before the half-hour mark but was then sent off on the stroke of the break following an altercation with Azpilicueta and Fabregas.

Bosnia & Herzegovina had the better of the chances in the second half despite playing with 10 men but Pedro, who was introduced at half-time, made it 3-1 right at the death when he converted from close range after Begovic had saved well from Williams.

Fabregas was withdrawn on the hour, Azpilicueta completed the full game. Begovic also played the full 90 minutes.

Spain continue their preparations for the Euros against South Korea on Wednesday.

They will play their first game at the tournament on Monday 13 June against Czech Republic.
