Pedro expecting “a big opportunity for us”

The Blues play the first of three remaining home matches tomorrow when they take on Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, and Pedro hopes the side can produce a memorable performance in front of their own supporters.

This weekend’s game provides the perfect opportunity to revert back to winning ways and while Pedro expects a tough test, he remains confident we can overcome Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

‘It will be a difficult game,’ he tells the official Chelsea website. ‘They are a strong team with good players but it’s a big opportunity for us.

‘It’s important for the team and supporters to win every game but it’s difficult. The Premier League is very tough and game by game the team is trying to win as many points as we can. If possible we want to finish in the qualifying places for Europe.’

While there may not be as much at stake today as there often is when we face City, there will be a whole host of talented players on show, and it’s the type of fixture Pedro looks forward to playing in.

‘For myself and the team it’s a big game,’ says the Spaniard. ‘Every player wants to be involved in these type of matches, especially at home, and we will fight until the end to get a victory.’

‘We want to finish strongly and then next season, if we work hard, hopefully we will be able to challenge for the title,’ he says.
