Pedro targets missing trophy: “You always want to win”

Pedro will be hoping to add the Europa League to his collection when the Blues take on Arsenal in Baku. His trophy cabinet includes the Premier League, World Cup, European Championship and numerous La Ligas. And there will be a new addition if Chelsea beat Arsenal in Baku on Wednesday.

Pedro, 31, said: “At home, I have the replica trophies. I am very happy because in my career it has been so good to win a lot of titles.

“The Europa League is special for me because I don’t have this title. It is the first time in my career to play in it.

“You always feel the pressure and tension. It is a final. It is the one opportunity to win the title.”

The former Barcelona star has advice for his less experienced team-mates going into the Gunners clash. He warned: “Be ready and be focused from the start.

Pedro highlights the special feeling of winning a final: “Finals are what stick in your memory most. I remember some very good finals, such as Liverpool versus Milan or the final between Barça and Arsenal, which was very emotional for the Barcelona fans. That emotion when you lift the trophy is something special – you have to experience it to know what it feels like because you cannot put it into words.

“You can get bored of many things, but never winning. You always want to win as many trophies and titles as possible so that when you retire, you can look back and see what you were able to achieve. European competition always drives you on a little more”, said Pedro about the game.

Pedro “The match against Arsenal is going to be very good to watch and very open, as they are a team that we know like to play football. They defend from the front, like we do, so I think it will be a final that's very easy on the eye.
