Blues through to CL next round as group winners (2-0)

A goal in each half secured a 2-0 victory over Porto at Stamford Bridge and ensured the Blues progressed to the knockout stages of the Champions League as winners of Group G.

Jose Mourinho‘s side produced a dominant display and could easily have won by a more significant margin, but the passage into the last 16 was sealed courtesy of an Ivan Marcano own goal early in the game and a well-taken Willian strike six minutes after the break.

There were plenty of chances to add to our tally, with Eden Hazard, Oscar and Diego Costa all going close, but ultimately all that mattered was winning the game. The fact it was achieved with a strong team performance added to the feel-good factor inside the stadium at the final whistle.

With European football now on hold until February, we can focus firmly on domestic matters, starting with a tough assignment at league leaders Leicester City on Monday.

Earlier that day, at 11am UK time, we will find out our opponents in the last 16 of the Champions League when the draw is made.
