Big guns face to face in Alicante

The Defending Champions, Spain, are back in action. While England will begin their Euro 2016 preparations with a trip to Spain, Vicente Del Bosque’s in-form side will try to bank on their home advantage. The friendly match will take place at the 30,000 capacity Estadio Jose Rico Pérez in Alicante (Friday 13th, 19:45 BST).

Coach Vicente del Bosque, ahead of the clash said “England have a team with great potential and are individually very strong. Once they have a bit of organization they will be a great side.”

Title holders have won their last six matches and have kept clean sheets in four consecutive games against Slovakia, Macedonia, Luxembourg and Ukraine.

England will go into this clash with huge confidence having won all their ten matches in the European qualifying campaign. England also beat Spain 1-0 in their last encounter thanks to Frank Lampard’s second-half strike in a Wembley friendly.
