Torres, Pedro, Navas and Javi Martínez have already his number for the World Cup

The number 9 for Fernando Torres. Pedro chose the number 2. Navas will dress the 22 and Javi Martínez the 20. These are the numbers the four international players represented by Bahía will have for South Africa’s 2010 World Cup. In the cases of Pedro and Javi Martínez, this is their first choice, while Torres wears his traditional 9 and Navas has chosen the double 2.


The Spanish National Team began its path to South Africa’s World Cup at the sports centre of Las Rozas, where they have started the get-together to train for the preparatory phase of the World Cup. After visiting their respective rooms, the National Team players posed for the official photo with the technical staff. They also inaugurated in the morning the National Team Museum in an act presided by His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón. In the afternoon they had their first training session.

They will stay in Las Rozas only for some days. Next Friday, the 28th ‘La Roja’ will move its base to Austria, to the Alpine village of Schurns, to be precise, where they’ll play two friendly matches against Saudi Arabia (29th May) and South Korea (3rd June). After that, they will return to Spain to play the last friendly match against Poland in Murcia (8th June) before flying to South Africa.

The list of the numbers each Spanish National Team player will wear during the next South Africa’s 2010 World Cup and its preparatory matches, is the following:
