Pedro’s contract extends till 2015

Pedro has signed last Wednesday an extension and improvement of his contract, which is extended till 2015 and which increase the escape clause to 90 million Euros. The player has showed to be “grateful and very happy”.

Seizing the resting day of the Spanish national team, the player from the Canary Islands has travelled to Barcelona to sign his new Agreement. The Barça striker, whose contract ended the season 2013/14, has extended his continuity at the club till, at least, 2015. Besides, the escape clause goes from 75 to 90 million Euros.
Pedro’s new contract also shows, at an economical level, the qualitative jump his sports performance has experienced, which has consolidated him as a decisive player within the professional Barça team.

Acknowledgements

In exclusive words for Barça TV and for the official Club’s website, the Barça ‘17’ said that he feels a “very big joy” in a day he has qualified as “very happy”. At the same time, Pedro has have some thank words for the Club’s board of directors, “for their support”, and especially to the President, Joan Laporta, because “without him this would have never been possible”. “The players will remember him forever”, he added.

"An unrepeatable season”

Making a personal balance of the season, the striker has stated that “it has been a very good year”. “I’m very satisfied with a season that will be unrepeatable”, he has explained, just before adding that “all has gone well and, at the end we’ve get a very difficult title”. Finally, and about his first goal with the Spanish national team he admits he’s living a “happy moment”.

A decisive player

In his second season at the first team –the first he has participate with regularity-, Pedro has played 52 official matches and has scored 23 goals. His explosion has spread worldwide, with goals at all the six competitions. Pedro, who started the year as a substitute, has ended it as a decisive player within Guardiola’s eleven, what has been worthy also to be called for the World Cup. Yesterday he scored his first goal as international (6-0)

Decisive goals

These 23 signed goals have not been of little importance, but the entire contrary. Pedro has showed his ‘killer’ instinct in a European Super Cup, in a Madrid-Barça, in a Champions Semi final or in the final of the Club’s World Cup. Without his goals, the team maybe would not have got four titles this season.
