Pedro: “Now we can’t fail anymore”

The Spanish national team player, Pedro Rodríguez, shown his disappointment after the defeat against Switzerland (0-1) at the World Cup’s debut and assured that now they “can’t” fail at the next two matches if the want to qualify for the last sixteen.


“Now we have two matches and we can’t fail. We must get up and react, that’s what Del Bosque has told us. We all have cheered each other up and even the technical staff. We don’t have other option but look ahead”, told us the player from the Canary Islands.

The Barça player, who said that the defeat “is very disappointing”, showed his most optimistic face and explained that these slips “can happen”. “There are a lot of national teams which are playing the same way, waiting for their opportunity from behind and being lucky to get the goal”, he said.

“We are only disappointed because of the score. It was a shame that we haven’t been able to get the victory because the team has made a good match”, stated the player from Tenerife, who has made his debut in a World Cup this afternoon against the Swiss team.
