Pedro, Navas and Monreal, called for the summer friendly match of the National Team against Mexico

The Champions attack again in a friendly match against Mexico, match for which Pedro Rodríguez, Jesús Navas and Nacho Monreal have been called. While Vicente del Bosque has chosen to respect Fernando Torres’ pre-season and recovery plan which started last Monday in Liverpool. The coach has not called any other forward to replace him. Another special situation is given with Javi Martínez, the valued midfielder of Athletic, who “on a gesture of goodwill” has chosen to play with the under-21 national team, of which is the captain, the qualifying match for the European Cup which will be played the same day against Finland.

Within the list of the 21 called we also noticed the absence of Pepe Reina, the Liverpool’s goalkeeper, who wasn’t neither called nor replaced because of his physical problems. Another one who won’t neither be there will be Andrés Iniesta, author of the goal of the final against Holland who, as Torres, will stay doing the pre-season with his Club. Apart from these one-off leaves, Del Bosque has maintained the team that won the World Cup with 18 of the 23 players who traveled to South Africa. The newcomers are the Osasuna winger Nacho Monreal and the Villareal players Cazorla and Bruno Soriano, being the first time to be called for the national team for the last one.

- List of the called to travel to Mexico:

Casillas, Valdés; Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos, Puyol, Piqué, Marchena, Capdevila, Monreal; Xabi Alonso, Busquets, Xavi, Cazorla, Cesc, Bruno; Pedro, Jesús Navas, Mata, Villa, Silva, Llorente.
